Barro Virgencita

This beautiful Virgencita was hand sculpted by Francisca, a Guatemalan ceramic artisan.  The beautiful sculpture was made with detail, from her delicate face to the pattern of her dress. She was handmade with Chinautla's clay/barro. This clay is made from mud that is hand-molded and dried for days in sunlight until it's prepared for cooking in an underground kiln. No artificial colors or dyes are used. 

Each sculpture has its own color variation, which may include black/gray fire stains or some changes in color. Making them one-of-a-kind!

Due to the nature of handcrafted goods, each piece may differ slightly in size, shape, and color - that's the beauty of handmade!  Little imperfections in the product are normal due to the natural baking and drying process of the clay. Each piece is meticulously checked before shipping it out to you.
